SENNET gathers for its fifth Network-Wide Training Event: Adsorption School in Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany

The SENNET consortium gathered in Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, from 1 to 5 September 2025 for its fifth Network-Wide Training Event, hosted by Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. The event combined consortium meetings with participation in the Erlangen-Edinburgh School of Adsorption 2025, offering researchers an intensive programme of scientific training, technical discussions and networking opportunities.

The week began with research progress presentations from recruited researchers, alongside technical discussions and a Supervisory Board meeting focused on advancing the project’s objectives. From 2 to 5 September, participants attended the Erlangen-Edinburgh School of Adsorption, which featured lectures and tutorials on adsorption equilibrium, nanoporous material characterisation, adsorption kinetics, gas storage, advanced separation processes and catalysis. The programme also included laboratory tours designed to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications.

The training school brought together leading academic and industrial experts, including lecturers from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, the University of Edinburgh, Air Liquide and Air Products. Social and networking activities, including group dinners and a guided tour of Erlangen’s historic beer cellars, further strengthened collaboration and knowledge exchange within the SENNET network.
